All About Kennel Cough
What Are the Symptoms of Kennel Cough?
Kennel Cough is normally characterized by a hacking cough that people describe as, "A cat trying to cough up a hair ball" or as, "Something is stuck in my dog's throat." Kennel Cough is not contagious to humans, but is contagious to other dogs, depending upon the stress level, vaccination status, and length of exposure of the dog.
How did my dog become infected?
Kennel cough is highly contagious among dogs and can be spread at such places as dog parks, dog beaches, groomers, boarding kenn 00004000 els, and other common meeting areas. The incubation period for Kennel Cough usually ranges between 2 - 14 days.
What kind of medical treatment, if any, is necessary?
Although some cases of Kennel cough can go away without medication, recovery can be hastened with the use of an antibiotic such as Clavamox, which directly kills the Bordatella organism. Alternatively, Kennel Cough may also be treated with cough suppressants to provide comfort during natural recovery. Sometimes antibiotics and cough suppressants can be combined.

What shots are included in the first puppy shots and how much do they normally cost?
I am fixing to get a puppy for the first time. I was told that the dog has been dewormed, and that all it needs is first puppy shots. I was wondering what all the first puppy shots included, and how much they would approximately cost.
Puppy shots?
My fiance and I are getting a 7wk old Boxer puppy and we are unsure about the shot schedule. The puppy hasn’t had any shots yet, and we don’t live in an area where I believe it will be exposed to Parvo or Lime disease (what is Corono disease, by the way?). So when should it get what shots? And how much do these shots cost, if we buy them and inject them ourselves?
puppy shots?
i just got a chihuahua puppy and bought the 7in1 shots. do i still give the puppy the whole shot? she is really tiny and i am not sure of what to do.
How many Different Puppy shots should be administered?
I have a 12 week old puppy and he just had his 4th round of shots and is soon due for his 5th Parvo, Corona, etc. I am wondering how many more rounds of shots he will need. I read somewhere that all those shots weren’t good for puppies soooo does anyone know anything about this?
Puppy Shots?
We got our puppy two weeks ago and she has had her first set of shots. I was wondering when we need to get her second shots and also when to get her rabies shot. Thanks!!
Chis need to have a 5way not a 7way. The lepto can kill them. If you do go ahead and give her the 7way, WATCH CLOSELY for swelling in the face and neck area. It could kill her without ER treatment. Not every dog has a bad reaction, but it is statistically more dangerous to give lepto to a small dog than a larger one.
The better choice for chi puppy shots is a DHPPC. And yes you do use the whole vaccine.
Call a veterinarian in your area and ask about puppy shots and their cost. It would be good to go on and develop a relationship with a vet. Your puppy will be more comfortable.
Second shots are usually given @ 10 – 12 weeks of age!!
Only 12 weeks and on his 4th round of shots?????
Corona is no longer recommended for adults or for puppies. Here’s the newest from the AAHA for recommendations

You will need to start his vaccinations at 8 weeks of age…they should be the core vaccinations..distemper/parvo/hepatitis/adenovirus-2
lepto doesn’t need to be given unless you live in a high risk area and even then only on careful consideration and weighing of risk of exposure ot risk of reaction from the vaccine. Lyme vaccination is not necassary if you don’t live in a tick area.
No coronavirus ever…this is a very unnecassary vaccine..coronavirus is not fatal and does not occur in puppies over 6 weeks of age.Thosep uppies that do get it are only ill @ 24 hours and taht’s it..dogs/puppies over 6 weeks are naturally immune to it no matter if vaccinated or not.
The vaccine sched should be:
8 weeks, distemper/parvo
12 weeks repeat
16 weeks repeat (rabies can be given at this time but it is best to wait until 20 weeks or older, also it should NOT be given at the same time as any other vaccination)
The above is current protocol from the AAHA/AVMA and all 27 vet schools
